CommentsAlthough the emo/screamo genre is inundated with bands - many of which seem to just be copying the same tried and true formula, and hence come off sounding quite generic - more keep popping up. Now, I hate to admit it, but Emery is one act that actually shows much talent and loads of passion on their debut release The Weak's End, an album overflowing with equal parts melody and stormy, whirlwind aesthetics. The guys oscillate between the two disparate sounds well, fusing both light and harsh elements deftly - clean vocals are offset at times by abrasive screams, beautiful guitar work and understated drums turn tempestuous on a dime, etc. And for the most part, it all works. The band will be heading out on the Tooth And Nail Tour beginning in February with Anberlin, Further Seems Forever, Watashi Wa, and mewithoutYou. Check the Website for details.
