| Initial Impression | The cover looks like an ode to Tool videos…or is it just me? | |
| Notable Lyric | "Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'll believe. Maybe it’s the feeling I get when I'm with you." - "Maybe" | |
| Factoid | This album was produced by Scrap 60, known for his work with Anthrax, H2O, Ill Nino, and Primer 55. | |
| Serve With | A Tool video of course! And some Starbucks coffee... decaf. | |
| Comments | Self-dubbed as scream-core, Spinning Images has very strong flavors of their rock predecessors, and a BIG-TIME Pearl Jam overtone which, at times, is a bit disconcerting. The band however, does have it's own signature sound which is very much prevalent on "Maybe", their first single off the album. My personal opinion is they should continue to embrace this sound, pulling on their artsy side and pushing away from the screaming (it's been done so often in modern music that it has become redundant). Another example of this can be found on "Recognize", "Indecisive", and "Pretty Sun", which sound more like Spinning Images songs than some of the other tracks which run the risk of pigeoning them as "copycats." Should they decide to capitalize on the things that make them marketable, yet individuals, they definitely have what it takes! This is certainly a band to watch! | |
