| Comments | Not being a Depeche Mode fan this was harder for me to get used to, but the more listening time I put in here, the album became more enjoyable and the lyrics vividly imagined. Tom Shear aptly writes compelling lyrics- though some are cliché; they are still pervasively effective. Also noted is the cross-over from punk to techno (or new wave), without the music having a shard of noisome punk influence- this seemed shocking A23 being hell bent on the techno sound. If you were ever a fan of DP, this will fit nicely into your indie collection. | |
