| Location | In theatres near you. | |
| Initial Impression | Hard to believe there was once a time when soundtracks were full of obscure tracks that no one paid attention to. | |
| Factoid | Fuel's drummer Kevin Miller appears in the latest Men's Health talking about his fitness regimen - and shirtless to boot! Yummy... | |
| Serve With | Try Tobey MacGuire's Spiderman or Tim Burton's Batman. They far exceed Ben Affleck's celluloid offering. | |
| Comments | My highest praise is reserved for Evanscence, whose two tracks persuaded me to beg their publicist for a copy of their debut album (Get it, get it now!), while Saliva's "Bleed For Me" is even more epic and melodic than "Can't Live Without You". Seether can't miss with lines like "My hands are stained with love", and Nickleback throws down a tune harder than anything found on their Silver Side Up. Not surpringly, Rob Zombie and Drowning Pool's collaboration immediately causes headbanging, and Chevelle's track makes your hand unconsciously fold itself into the heavy-metal devil sign. Funnily enough, as much controversy as we have around here on techno/electronica related artists, the "daredevil theme" constitutes good techno. While it contains those regular "loops" found in the genre, it adds enough variety and communicates a mood effectively without becoming monotonous. New comers Palo Alto and Revis are reaping mondo radio benefits from this advance publicity and punksters BoySetsFire and Autopilot off reveal there is more to the genre than whiny vocals and up-tempo pop sounds. My only complaint is this: the contributions made by The Calling and Hoobastank felt like regurgitations of their previous singles, and makes them prime candidates for the sophomore jinx. | |
