A Quickie with Dizzy Park's Jimmy Maler

Jimmy gets two for the price of one - Sirens Cristy and Kimmie

Cristy: Now for the Quickie...I don't know if you - humor me, have you looked at our magazine? Tell me yes.
Jimmy: I've seen it before. I've seen it once or twice actually.
Cristy: Have you seen our Quickies?
Jimmy: No I have not.
Cristy: Everybody has to have a Quickie with a Siren.
Jimmy: Right on.
Cristy: You ready for this? Don't think too hard.
Jimmy: I won't.

Cristy: What is your definition of 'happiness'?
  • My definition of happiness is, quite honesty, being in control of your own destiny.

    What's your guilty pleasure?
  • My guilty pleasure... guilty pleasure... I gotta be honest with you, it's chocolate. That's really the truth. Superseding sex, anything else, alcohol - it's just chocolate. I'm an animal for it.

Who would play you in the film version of your life?
  • Who would play me ... probably Brad Pitt. (He laughs while Cristy a raises a skeptical eyebrow) Have you ever seen him in 12 Monkeys? I mean, he was really awesome.

Cristy: Actually I love that movie....Tell us about your first kiss.
  • First kiss was in the woods. I was in like fourth grade...
Kimmie: It wasn't with me, was it?
  • Oh it was you! Now I know where I remember you!.....(laughter).....You know, it was fun, nervous, silly, behind the tree kinda thing.

Cristy: Who's your favorite artist or band that no one's ever heard of?
  • Maybe...no one's ever heard of?
    Kimmie: Indie band.
  • Probably Magna-Fi, the Szuters. They're not famous yet, but they should be. They probably will be. You heard of them?
    Cristy: Yes, I have.
  • Do you like them, do you dig them?
Cristy: I haven't actually heard their stuff, but I've heard of them.
  • They're really good. It's good indie rock.

(Cristy's note: After being bribed with free passes and a CD single from Jimmy, Kimmie and I were able to see Magna-Fi live. He's right, they kick!)
