| Initial Impression | A dark, underground party with a sexy feel. | |
| Notable Lyric | "Nothing but love songs." | |
| Factoid | Although the music has a real worldly feel to it – incorporating steel drums, an Arabian flavour, Spanish subtleties, and rattlesnake sampling – it was recorded in Texas! | |
| Serve With | Your favorite mind altering substance. | |
| Comments | It's Bob Dylan-meets-Kula Shaker and New Order, after smoking about an ounce of Mary Jane. The ambience is slow and relaxing for the most part, almost trance-like and hypnotic. The lyrics mention Indians a lot ("Indian girl meets her blond-haired boy and they spend the night nursing rawhides."), and there’s an interesting track about the well-known nursery rhyme, "Ring Around the Rosy" ("All Fall Down"). This is a psychedelic mixture of many different elements that seems to jive. The original pasteboard of this release contains the CD and the 20th issue of Émigré Magazine, which features all of the CD's details, including lyrics, unique photos, illustrations, and various typefaces. Too weird for the radio stations everyone listens to, but definitely could be heard on some of the better college radio stations. | |
