CommentsThe collaborated effort of Ben Gibbard, and Jimmy Tamborello was induced on computer generated looping techniques that were sent back and forth to each other through the mail so vocal tracks could be added as well as input on the electronic arrangements. Keeping in mind that this is their first effort together using this technique, I found a few tracks still choppy in dynamic structure, but overall quite interesting asking, “How did they do that?” The lyrics are poetically written and fun at times with songs like “Sleeping In” (quite a catchy little chorus too), and I found the writing appealed to the music. Between the lyrics and their collaborating efforts, I think this is interesting enough to keep their listeners tuned in. I’m looking forward to their next album!
