| Location | Italy via Germany, I think. | |
| Initial Impression | "This looks like European death metal to me!" upon viewing the sci-fi artwork on the album sleeve. | |
| Notable Lyric | "Warriors of the New Century now rise Hear the sad voice of starless nights Warriors of the New Century now ride Cross the cosmic shores of mortal time." - "New Century's Tarantella" | |
| Factoid | Guitarist and composer (and member of Rhapsody) Luca Turilli dreams of someday being a soundtrack composer. Prophet of the Last Eclipse is the second in a "Virtual Odyssey Trilogy" styled as "Symphonic Cosmic Metal." | |
| Serve With | A touring symphony with a Circe du Soleil-type visual arts accompaniment. | |
| Comments | Epic, indeed. This album is like an aural comic book. At first listen, I was drawn in by the hyper-speed guitar arpeggia and gothic choruses. Upon finding the lyrics, however, I was entranced by the story being told. A tale of good and evil, and the tragic love story that unfolds between it, inspired by the movie "Event Horizon." Not really one for concept albums, the speed-metal drums, spaced-out keyboards, and choirs are enough to capture your attention, even if the storyline doesn't. | |
