| Comments | There is something profoundly funny about a man singing "Genie In A Bottle", much less doing so in a punked-out fashion. That in itself earns this disc a gold star. Points have been deducted for the off-key version of "Oops I Did It Again", however, but "Livin' La Vida Loca" kicks it back up...Oh come on, admit it...you know you secretly move your hips and involuntarily tap your toes to that tune! At least with the punk version you can pretend you're cool! And keeping in the Latin vein, Enrique's "Hero", for which I'd always loved the lyrics, finds new life with BK's less-light-rock remake. Finally, I'm not sure how I feel about them taking on the monumental task of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here", which brought a semi-pained look to my face simply because, as fellow-siren Cristy and I have often discussed - "There are just some bands you should NOT cover." I'm pretty sure Pink Floyd is one of them, but I found myself singing along anyway, despite myself. | |
