![]() | Steve Brockman - Don't Sing | |
| Location | Germany | |
| Initial Impression | (Upon seeing his promo photo...) Better come up with something good; this guy looks like he would kick my ass and eat my spleen. | |
| Notable Lyric | The title says it all: he took his own advice and kept his mouth shut. | |
| Factoid | The Website is all in German. | |
| Serve With | Mettwurst and Warsteiner, while wearing Lederhosen (woo hoo!). | |
| Comments | This CD, while well-produced, falls into the old rock/instrumental trap; it's full of creative ideas and well played guitars, but the verse-chorus-verse-solo structure of modern rock music leaves the songs sounding dull and repetitive. Granted, Brockmann does better at this difficult genre than most others – his guitar skills shine, and he shows a mastery of many different instruments and sounds. In the end, the specific strengths of Don't Sing fail to add up to a memorable listening experience. The CD provides roughly 45 minutes of entertaining background music, but little else. | |
