DIRTY AMERICANS - Strange Generation
by

June 2005
Dirty Americans is everything rock 'n' roll: loud, naughty, gritty, fun,
and with something to say. The band's debut record, Strange
Generation, is a serving of bad-ass songs that have the nuts and
bolts of the old school and facets of heavy, guitar-laden rock with fat,
slick bass lines and great drumming.
Dig this: "Your love is like a car crash
you leave me bloody and take all my money..."
That is a lyric from the song, "Car Crash", which is one of several
stand-out songs from Strange Generation. This is straight-ahead
American rock 'n' roll, with no navel contemplation trying to figure out
the deeper meaning of it all. The intelligence is in the music itself
and it is finely produced on this album.
Dirty Americans frontman, Myron (no last name given), serves up the
lead vocals with strength and soul. You're not going to hear a
Juilliard-trained falsetto in Myron's voice. Background vocals with
harmonies are handled by guitarist Jeff Piper and bassist Patrick Bever.
Other great songs include "No Rest", which has a Deep Purple vibe (circa
Machine Head), the title track "Strange Generation", and "Chico".
Dirty Americans have a sound that was made loud to be played loud.
A nice Jewish girl told me that this is the kind of music that makes
girls want to take their shirts off and dance.
