Little King – Virus Divine |
| Location | El Paso, Tejas |
| Initial Impression | How sweet is it that this CD was dedicated; actually it claims to be inspired by, one of the band member's young daughter. Unfortunately I can't tell you who because that information wasn't contained – it was simply signed "Dad". I'm going to guess its vocalist and lyricist Ryan Rosoff. |
| Notable Lyric | "Slipping off your dancing shoes. Backed up against the wall. Sliding down your strapless gown. I'm heading for a fall." – "Second Wind" |
| Factoid | The Sirens spun one of this band's tunes on Episode 14 of Siren Rebellion – Cuz we're good like that! In other news, the CD was mixed by Terry Brown (Rush, Dream Theater, Fates Warning). |
| Serve With | A cool buzz and some tasty waves! |
| Comments | There's something theatric about this CD. Not missing the Terry Brown mention earlier, I am reminded a bit of Rush with hints of a Geddy Lee vocal here and there. The press information describes the music as pop prog (I swear that a new music definition crops up every day) but I'll just call it rock that is frequently haunting, beautiful (Can I call rock beautiful?) while tipping its retro hat to old school metal (Again see Rush or maybe a bit of Queensryche). I can picture folks sitting around smokin' the dope and spinning this CD while pondering its frequently introspective lyrics. Anyone else have the munchies? |
