| Comments | On their debut, Slow Coming Day deliver a sound that is like many bands coming out these days - emo/indie - and seem pretty intent on proving that they are a rare breed, different from most in that their songwriting is genuine and that they didn't form in order to cash in on the craze. Instead, they are excited about "being able to touch [our] audience through the music." And vocalist/guitarist Orion Walsh does pen some truly sensitive, personal, heart-on-his-sleeve lyrics on all twelve tracks. He covers the entire gamut from love, as on "Captivated" and "Behind Blue Eyes," which is full of longing, to regret and loss, as evinced on songs like the upbeat - musically, at least - "A Midsummer's Nightmare" and the touching "A Part of Me Died." | |
