| Comments | If you are familiar with the terms "emo" or "screamo" then you will love Dayton, Ohio's Hawthorne Heights. Armed with three guitarists and three contributing vocalists, this neo-punk band utilizes sophisticated melodies and vocals into what is a great record. My initial impression of the record was that it sounded like most of the bands on the Warped Tour. Although on closer listen, it sounds like this band has more metal influences than many of the "screamo" bands now (see Story of The Year, Finch, Thursday). The guitar riffs are harder and (to the credit of their three guitarists) more complicated than many of their contemporaries. | |
