Jaded Era - Invisible
LocationCuyahoga Falls, Ohio
Initial ImpressionWell, it’s hard to have a first impression when I’ve been hearing nothing but vivid descriptions of their music, live show and backstory for months now!
Notable Lyric“Semi-sweet with an aftertaste,” from "Take It."
FactoidThis quartet formed in seventh grade and has been playing for seven years. Sponge Producer Tim Patalan mixed and produced this album – their SECOND.
Serve WithAny damn thing you want – it’s that good.
CommentsThis is a quartet of youngsters barely out of high school, but close your eyes and you’d think you were listening to the latest major label release destined to burn up "TRL" and VH1. Kira Leyden’s full-bodied vocals and her cohorts' equally strong musicianship bring to mind a stronger Michelle Branch, Jewel when she’s not busy being breathy, some sparks of Sheryl Crow and a bit of Gwen Stefani’s spunk. This is not Avril Lavigne (Can I get an Amen?), and it’s not Britney and the like (Gimme a Woot Woot), nor is it neo-pop-punk (And the crowd cheers!) It’s the sort of slick, crisp and well-orchestrated pop rock that brought groups like Matchbox 20 and Third Eye Blind their success. It’s amazing in an unsigned band, but miraculous in one so young. If some label doesn’t grab them within the next year, I’ll know it’s a sign of the impending Apocalypse.
