| Initial Impression | Oh yeah, gotta love punk chicks that mock traditional 50’s gender roles. | |
| Notable Lyric | “You’re phat, get over it. Girl, go with it.” From the aptly titled “Phat and Sassy.” | |
| Factoid | Sharon “Sewing” Needles used to be a Butt Trumpet. I only bring it up cuz we have a special attachment to one of their tunes. (See FAQ page sound byte to fully appreciate this.) | |
| Serve With | Betty Crocker and combat boots. | |
| Comments | It’s weird. When women strap on instruments and proceed to put voice to their unique experience, folks roll their eyes and call it “angry fem music” (and other not so polite terms). It’s viewed as niche, or worse yet, whiny. In my opinion, indignation is a good thing, and we could all use a little self-depreciating reflection of the warped reality we live in. Besides, Stay At Home Bomb isn’t trying to preach, they’re just putting together a collection of songs aggressive enough to annoy your parents, siblings, neighbors and significant other when you replay it five times in a row. Isn’t that what punk is about anyway? | |
