Anchorman Soundtrack

by Siren Kimmie
August 2004

The first time I listened to this CD was at Siren Cristy's place. We had had a few drinks (shock) and it was kind of late. Cristy was lounging across her office floor and I was tapping her in the skull with the CD case chanting, "WAKE UP...WAKE UP...WAKE UP." We were trying to find our second wind and found ourselves singing along to the various '70s tunes which produced my emphatic "Oh, I'm so taking this CD."

Yes, that's right kiddies...14 fun-filled '70s tracks complete with intros from the infamous Ron Burgundy, Anchorman. You too will find yourself singing along to such old faves as "Ride Captain Ride" by Blues Image; "Treat Her Like A Lady" by Cornelius Brothers & Sister Rose; "Groovy Situation" by Gene Chandler; "Carry On Wayward Son" by Kansas; an interesting remake of "Afternoon Delight" by Will Ferrell and the Channel 4 News Team; and Jonathan Edwards' "Sunshine (Go Away Today)", which left the Sirens singing and dancing around the office in bad-old-movie fashion. Bet you wish you were a fly on that wall! Rounding out the mix are tracks by Neil Diamond, The Isley Brothers, Henry Gross, Bill Withers, Tom Jones, and Hall and Oats. How can you go wrong really? But it was the sign-off by Will Ferrell that left us in absolute stitches. Call it slap-happy. Call it the brilliance that is Will Ferrell. But don't call us silly drunks for laughing our asses off as Ron Burgundy describes his plans to polish off an entire bottle of vodka before getting mauled by a Mastiff.

This is a great set of songs to compliment your next house party…like maybe Siren Cristy's move-in party scheduled this month. What, you didn't receive an invite? Hmm...it must have gotten lost in the mail, 'cause I KNOW she invited everyone! Be sure to check out her staff page to find links to her wish lists for that perfect housewarming gift! And don't forget to check out the Anchorman soundtrack!

Goodnight and have a pleasant tomorrow.
