Shorties

The Click Five - Greetings from Imrie House
LocationBahhhston
Initial ImpressionThey're probably too young for us, but right now we just don't care. (A murmur under the breath "If they are, I'd teach them a few things.")
Notable Lyric"She pushed me in the pool at our last school reunion." - "Just the Girl" (Was that the Siren Kiddie pool per chance?)
FactoidImrie House is actually the house where the boys lived while working on the album. Fact II: "Angel to You (Devil to Me)" was co-written with Paul Stanley. Fact III: the album was produced by Mike Denneen (Fountains of Wayne, Aimee Mann, and Letters to Cleo).
Serve WithThe film That Thing You Do. We heard that before looking at the press info which makes mention of Schlesinger.
CommentsTheir influences are impressive, they sport thousand-dollar mod-looking suits and semi-trendy hair cuts while performing fun, yet intelligent pop, with fabulous harmonies. Admittedly, they skipped the grind of the local club scene, instead surrounding themselves with highly connected business folks, and they're already bearing the brunt of this breach of ettiquette. While it's catchy enough to leave the Sirens singing along, we caution them against focusing so strongly on the pre-teen girl demographic. Sure, they'll probably rake in millions of dollars, but they'll also leave themselves vulnerable to statutory rape charges and paternity suits. Plus, little girls eventually become women, and they tend to trade in those empty pretty boys for men with a helluva lot more substance.
