Machinery Hall - The Separation of Music and State
LocationBoston, MA
Initial ImpressionHow was it possible that this album insert got approved? What were the other options? Not to be mean, but the cover looks like it was done by a 6th grader.
Notable Lyric"I don't fear the light at the end." - "Complete"
FactoidThe CD was recorded and produced by the band, at ACI, a non-profit arts group the band supports, who fund art through grants.
Serve WithThe need to find your path in life.
CommentsFirst off, the opening track on this album, "Better Be a Reason," is ten minutes long?? There's just no reason for that. Musically, there's lots of distortion and big guitars, a bit of a Seattle-sound. Not grunge, per se, but getting there. And there's a certain spirituality, an earthiness. I can see the college kids getting into this, but I don't predict any mainstream breakthrough just yet.
