The Rising - Future Unknown

Initial ImpressionHoly minimal demo copy, Batman! At least the track listing is actually on a paper insert as opposed to burnt on the CD itself, like some major labels. (It’s really difficult to know what song you’re listening to when it’s spinning at a dizzying pace in your CD player!)
Notable Lyric"Don’t you lie to me, tell me I’m the only one. Life has knocked you down. Nothing can replace my love. Lose yourself in me and I promise not to give you up. But you won’t change and I just can’t stay the same." - "Lie to Me"
FactoidSinger Michael Lee inked a deal with Maverick Records without having a band in place.
Serve WithA big epic video that becomes music television’s next darling.
CommentsEvery day is like musical Christmas here at the Score! Music offices. You never know, when you pop an unfamiliar CD in the player, whether it will renew your faith in a benevolent universe or smack of Tim Burton’s Nightmare.... The Rising follows on the heels of Creed (I say with some hesitation cuz if that group never released another self-important album, I’d be the first to run naked through downtown at rush hour) and picks up the torch lit by Default, The Calling and even a bit of Nickleback and Lifehouse. It’s a return to solid rock and roll without all the technological frills or schticky garage band screaming.
