| Comments | Blazing, meaty hardcore that can just as easily be manically fast and aggressive ("Worthless", "Drag Them Down") as it can sludgy and depressing (the grand opus "Voice of Fire", "Sirens"). Yup, Doomriders do it all (and sometimes even within the same song - see "Ride or Die" and "Fuck This Shit" for shining examples), and do it well. Outstanding, heavy bass; awesome dual guitar work; fierce drumming; and oft-screamy vocals waxing poetic on the finer things in the (after)life. Some other highlights: the heavy mid-tempo blast "The Chase" and this reviewer's personal favorite, "Listen Up!!", a fun, raucous rocker whose lyrics solely consist of the line "Get off my fuckin' back!" ad infinitum. All right, I lied: they add an occasional "right now" in there too at times... |
