| Location | Iowa City | |
| Initial Impression | The four cartoon characters sharing one pair of trousers on the cover of this CD just made me think of Wallace and Grommit's "The Wrong Trousers". Claymation rocks! | |
| Notable Lyric | "I've got a trouser load of love, I can't carry it all alone." - "Trouser Load of Love" | |
| Factoid | That's right, this is that fictitious band from the make-believe town of Bladderpool. | |
| Serve With | A Weird Al record. | |
| Comments | This "band" manages to tie in the British Invasion, with some silly lyrics to create kitschy little ditties. Think Weird Al with a fake British accent and a mop top. But you've gotta love the sixties vibe. "Sputnik Spy From Outer Space" brings to mind the School House Rock "Interplant Janet"; "They Stand Straight Up (When She Lays Down)" which sends the positive message that elective surgery is bad, mmmm kay?; "She Said Bi..." as if I need to explain that one; and "She Could Be In The Beatles" is a happy tune about a chick that, well, could be in the Beatles. About a dozen or so Beatles titles are mentioned and a fun "discussion" which smacked of Monty Python interjects. -- It's just that silly! | |
