| Comments | I really, REALLY wanted to like this album. I wanted to rock out in my car (and hope "Motormouth" was nowhere to be seen), crush it to my chest in adoration and herald it to my friends as my new current fave. However, I seem unable to conjure that sort of enthusiasm about The Donnas 6th effort. Opener "I Don't Want to Know" screams Cheap Trick, but more so I 'm reminded of The Runaways and Damone. The girls are damned good at the pop radio format, no doubt, but that's the problem. The majority of the songs are more templates than genuine compositions; which would otherwise be acceptable given their age, but The Donnas are seasoned professionals and it 's time to for them to put the formulas away and find their own voices. | |
