| Comments | Writing an OK Go review without using the words "power pop" is nearly
impossible. So there, it's out of the way. The band's second full-length
on Capitol, Oh No, is a lot more raw and stripped down than
their debut, but still manages to be just as powerful. "Invincible",
with its Joan Jett-like riff, "Do What You Want", and "It's a Disaster"
are straight-forward rock songs with a pop edge that Rick Nielsen would
pay a ransom to be able to pull off today. And just like their
self-titled first offering, Oh No has the perfect balance of
rock songs and almost ballad-like compositions. "Let It Rain" is a
rather dreamy piece that gives you some time to breathe before "Crash
The Party" starts rockin' again. Overall, a much stronger effort this
time out for OK Go.
