| Comments | This album, as I have stated before, is not your typical singer/songwriter album. Sometimes singer/songwriter records sound a bit stripped down, this is not the case. Backed by the traditional instruments, Saperstein also employs cello, piano, organ as well as trumpet for a fuller sound. Zara sounds like a cross between The Smashing Pumpkins and Fleetwood Mac. The songs are intelligent and well-crafted. It also seems to be very balanced, with a mix of faster and slower tempo songs. I would recommend this record to indie music listeners who appreciate a good female singer. | |
